Problem-Solving Team (PST) at Russell County Middle School
At Russell County Middle School, the Problem-Solving Team (PST) operates within the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to ensure that every student receives the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support needed to thrive.
Our PST collaborates with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to identify student needs early and implement targeted, evidence-based interventions. Using the MTSS model, we provide a continuum of support through multiple tiers of increasing intensity—ensuring that all students have equitable access to high-quality instruction and individualized assistance.
Through regular data review meetings, progress monitoring, and intentional collaboration, the PST helps bridge the gap between classroom instruction and student learning needs. This process allows us to celebrate growth, address barriers, and empower every student to reach their fullest potential.

Tutoring and Academic Support
Russell County Middle School does not currently offer on-campus tutoring services. Instead, we utilize i-Ready to identify and fill gaps in instruction through targeted lessons and personalized interventions. This program allows teachers to meet students where they are and provide focused support to help them grow academically. Families are encouraged to contact their child's teacher for additional strategies or resources to support learning at home.
